Makaoo Mall Developments GP Ltd
The mall currently houses a retail grocery store, the First Nations Bank, Canada Post Office, Craft store and business office for Makaoo Mall Developments. Makaoo Mall started as a grocery store, convenience and gas store in December 1989. The mall currently employees 14 people.
Hours of Operation:
Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sat. & Sun. 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Highway 17 at the corner of range road 10 and Secondary highway 641.
Makaoo Gas BarMakoo Gas Bar was opened on Jan. 20, 2010 as the population growth indicated that a new gas bar was needed. With new businesses in Onion Lake such as Askiy Apoy Hauling, as well as the increase in oilfield activity, a more efficient diesel dispenser was required to meet the growing demand. Makaoo Gas Bar currently employees 18 people.
Hours of Operation: Open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Location: Next to Makaoo Mall on highway 17 north close the corner of range road 10 and secondary highway 641.
Seekaskootch East Central Confectionary Gas BarStore Manager; Dorothy Whitsone
Opened in 2005 on the East Side of Onion Lake Cree Nation to serve customers living in the area. It currently sells gas, cigarettes, confectionery and grocery products. East Central employs 16 people.
Hours of Operation: Open daily from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Location: On range road 10, approximately 15 kilometers east of Makaoo Mall.
East Side Tire ShopGarage Manager; Clifford Lewis
East Side Tire Shop opened in 2003 as a tire repair shop. Services expanded in 2005 to include new tires, doing oil changes and minor vehicle repairs. The shop has 3 employees.
Location: Beside East Central Confectionery.
